I’ve come to a realization in my “real off-line life”.

I don’t have enough contact with people in my own area that are active in the arts (however limited it is here in Midland, TX).

Well, that’s gonna have to change.

If you’re in the Permian Basin, or anywhere in West Texas really, and are involved in the arts in anyway, I’d love to take you to lunch or coffee.  Just to talk about art and culture or whatever.

Use the contact page.  It’ll be fun.  As long as I’ve had my coffee!

Sometimes the things that people collect can and organize can really become great eye candy.

We were staying at a really nice little cottage just outside New Braunfels, Texas this past summer.  Of course we were there to float the Guadalupe River.  My wife and I, along with some of our closest friends, had a such a great time.

Really needed that escape from the dry deserts of West Texas.

The cottage had so much personality.  Lot’s of little trinkets to photograph.  Used my camera quite a bit while we were there.

Requested piece by the wife. She loves black and white photography with floral and natural patterns. It’s good to have someone to “request” work that I don’t mind doing.

I think most people have this misconception of Midland, TX.  Perhaps it is because we are surrounded by West Texas desert or perhaps it’s because we are often plagued by hot hot summers.

Once you enter a truly great neighborhood like ours your perception starts to change a little.  There is an abundance of wonderfully kept gardens just ripe for great photography.

I don’t have a green thumb and find myself looking, with awe, at the care and intimacy that our neighborhood gardeners have taken in creating lush and beautiful landscape.

I feel like our home is a sore spot on the rest of the neighborhood.  Perhaps I’ll work on my green thumb in the Spring.
