I love the fact that I’m actually having to write a post stating that I was wrong, wrong, wrong about Dallas looking outclassed by Detroit.  The Stars really showed up tonight and now we head back to Detroit for a game 5.  While that is awesome, I do understand the chances of us pulling off this upset are pretty astronomical at best.  There is always hope, and records are made to be broken.  Go Stars!

I’m off the meds now. It’s amazing how much clarity you lose when you are on such a heavy prescription. It’s probably worse for someone like me. I don’t take over the counter pain meds. After my back surgery a few years ago I had a choice of either living with the pain or suppressing it with medication. I did enough experimenting in high school. I didn’t want to live like a walking zombie on pain killers my whole life so I just live with the pain. Some days it hurts more than others, but it’s always manageable.

So when I get pumped full of medication for a procedure it really kicks my butt.  I’m way behind on all of my reading.  My google reader is horrendously full so I’ll be spending the next couple of days scanning all of the blogs I’m subscribed to.  I was getting terrible headaches  when I’d get on the computer so I didn’t get much of anything done.  Fortunately I had a couple of articles saved up for the photo tips website so that it didn’t just sit there.  I’m really amazed at some of the photographers that have become part of the community.  I’ll need to add a forum to the site soon.  That will be after I can get a directory put on the site.  I’ve tried one, but it doesn’t seem to be working right.  There is another directory plugin that I can try so I guess I’ll go that route.

I’m really loving friend feed right now.  I think it’s one of the coolest apps to come around in a while.  Of course that just means it eats a lot of my time.

The Dallas Stars are a few hours away from playing the Detroit Redwings.  Detroit leads the series 3-0 and I’m not that confident in our playing lately.  I do believe this will be our last game of the season, although I hope I’m wrong.  I’d love to be adding an entry into this journal in a few hours saying how wrong I was to say the Dallas Stars would be hitting the golf course next week instead of the Stanley Cup Finals.  The Redwings have just been playing near perfect hockey all year and have only gotten better as the playoffs progress.  I’ve no doubt they’ll win the Cup this year.  Oh well, there’s always next year.  I just hope Modano stays around for it.

It’s been quite a day today.  While most of the posts in this personal blog will be photography related, I do have to start by saying that I’m extremely excited about the NHL playoffs this year.  As you may or may not know, I do reside in Texas and I am a huge fan of the Dallas Stars.  Currently they are one win away from heading to the Western Conference Finals and I’m really stoked.  I like the teams chances this year for bringing home the cup.

On a more grim note, I spent most of the day at the hospital getting preregistered for surgery.  While it isn’t anything serious, I do understand that getting your tonsils removed is fairly uncomfortable.

In truth, the thing that bothers me the most is I’ll probably not be able to update the Your Photo Tips website for that week.  I’ll post on friday morning before the opp, and maybe I’ll be okay to get something else in by the following Tues?  I’ve got a couple of articles in the bag so I really just have to do some final editing and hit the publish button.

I’ve been completely neglecting my photoblog A Cognitive State of Mind lately.  It’s a real shame because I’ve been getting quite a bit of exposure for it.  My only real excuse is that I haven’t been able to pull myself away from the family since the new one arrived.

As soon as I’ve recovered from the surgery, which is supposed to be like 10 days, I’ll be hitting the streets with my camera in hand.
