Step Away From The Computer

Getting ready to order some prints in a couple of days.  Truthfully I should have ordered them a couple of weeks ago, but I kept putting it off.  No particular reason really, just procrastinated.

Procrastination is something that I’ve always had a hard time dealing with.  Maybe a deeper look would suggest that inspiration or motivation would be better suited terms for my lack of production lately.

I try to stay motivated, but find myself often frustrated with my surroundings.  Midland, TX doesn’t really offer me the creative outlets I desire.  Well, that’s what I keep telling myself anyway.

My real problem is possibly comfortability.  Or perhaps a few meet ups with some local artists would do me some good.

So here’s a question to all of you Midlanders.  Are you a creative individual/creative professional/artist/craftsperson or writer.  I could use some face time to see what’s really here in this community.

What am I missing?

Wanna do lunch?

Something To Watch Over The Weekend

I love TED talks.  They’ve been recently released as free to the world and I wanted to share this little gem with you.  I’ll probably periodically share random talks as I find them appropriate for the general topic of art.

This video is of Alison Jackson and her works looking into and dissecting celebrity.  I love her candor, vision, and strength.

Enjoy.

Totally under the weather today.

Was going to head to the Permian Basin Oil Show, but not really feeling up to it.

Wanted to brush up on my “street photography” skills.

I’m gonna try a nap and see how I feel when I wake up.

The light will be really bad by then, but it’ll cause me to think more about how to overcome it, so it’s still a good idea to go.

We’ll see…
