People that know me personally know that I’m a huge Dallas Stars fan.  In fact, during the playoffs I wear a jersey every game day(don’t ask if I wash the jerseys, you don’t really want to know, luck wears off you know).

I follow just about every Dallas Stars blog especially when I have to miss games because of work.  I hate those days.

Never before, and I mean ever, have I seen such a dedicated stat roundup and breakdown of logical and practical use before today.  Yes, this came from a fan’s blog and that makes me love it even more.   If you’re a fan of any sports team you should read the postto see what real fans do for the love of their teams.  I hope Dave Tippett is reading that blog.  It couldn’t hurt, right?

The Dallas Stars have not been doing so well this season with tons of injuries and spotty play from veterans and playmakers, but there is hope that the playoffs will find the Stars in attendance.

I make this vow and promise for all to see.  If the Dallas Stars do indeed make the playoffs this year I will shave my head into a mo-hawk in accordance with playoff rituals of the past where Mike Ribeiro and Steve Ott brandished mo-hawks during playoff runs.  I’m with you guys all the way, and good luck.  We’re gonna need it.

I love the fact that I’m actually having to write a post stating that I was wrong, wrong, wrong about Dallas looking outclassed by Detroit.  The Stars really showed up tonight and now we head back to Detroit for a game 5.  While that is awesome, I do understand the chances of us pulling off this upset are pretty astronomical at best.  There is always hope, and records are made to be broken.  Go Stars!

I’m off the meds now. It’s amazing how much clarity you lose when you are on such a heavy prescription. It’s probably worse for someone like me. I don’t take over the counter pain meds. After my back surgery a few years ago I had a choice of either living with the pain or suppressing it with medication. I did enough experimenting in high school. I didn’t want to live like a walking zombie on pain killers my whole life so I just live with the pain. Some days it hurts more than others, but it’s always manageable.

So when I get pumped full of medication for a procedure it really kicks my butt.  I’m way behind on all of my reading.  My google reader is horrendously full so I’ll be spending the next couple of days scanning all of the blogs I’m subscribed to.  I was getting terrible headaches  when I’d get on the computer so I didn’t get much of anything done.  Fortunately I had a couple of articles saved up for the photo tips website so that it didn’t just sit there.  I’m really amazed at some of the photographers that have become part of the community.  I’ll need to add a forum to the site soon.  That will be after I can get a directory put on the site.  I’ve tried one, but it doesn’t seem to be working right.  There is another directory plugin that I can try so I guess I’ll go that route.

I’m really loving friend feed right now.  I think it’s one of the coolest apps to come around in a while.  Of course that just means it eats a lot of my time.

The Dallas Stars are a few hours away from playing the Detroit Redwings.  Detroit leads the series 3-0 and I’m not that confident in our playing lately.  I do believe this will be our last game of the season, although I hope I’m wrong.  I’d love to be adding an entry into this journal in a few hours saying how wrong I was to say the Dallas Stars would be hitting the golf course next week instead of the Stanley Cup Finals.  The Redwings have just been playing near perfect hockey all year and have only gotten better as the playoffs progress.  I’ve no doubt they’ll win the Cup this year.  Oh well, there’s always next year.  I just hope Modano stays around for it.
