Meeting Local Bloggers

So, in an effort to do more networking outside of the Internet (yeah, that means like in real life!), I had a good old fashioned cup of joe with Maria Elena Duron of The Buzz 101 and Buzz2Bucks.
The pleasure, truly, was all mine. Maria was such a nice and engaging person with a genuine smile and such a wonderful enthusiasm for this new media and online social networking.
Unfortunately, I did most of the talking (it’s hard to shut me up some times), but on the flip side, that just means we’ll have to meet up again in the very near future.
I was able to find out about some of the new and great happenings here in West Texas, specifically, about a new business here in Midland, TX.
I’ll be contacting the gentleman behind that business because I find it fascinating and think you would to. Hmmm, I smell interview?!
So, if you’re a local (anywhere in West Texas within a couple of hours of Midland, TX) blogger or artist then hit me up. I’m really trying to meet everyone I can because I love that there are such good local artists and bloggers.
Also, if you’re local, and want to learn a little about blogging because you’re interested in it, hit me up. I certainly don’t mind letting you pick my brain. I haven’t put myself out there enough in the local community and I want to meet people.
We can talk art, photography, blogging, networking, or anything really.
If you're new here, thanks for visiting, and you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed to keep up to date on all the newest articles.

I think its a great idea to network with local bloggers - seems like we all comment and tweet and what not… might as well take it to the next level.
Maybe when we (wife & I) get through the house stuff (just sold & bought) and holidays we can brainstorm together about a local bloggers “expo”?
Just a thought.
Damien - what a nice surprise! I was checking out your site because I had mentioned YOU in a blog and how you pointed me in the direction of TEDtalks. So, I wanted to do a link and then I find you’ve blogged about our BRILLIANT meeting. I don’t feel like you talked to much– I felt like I learned ALOT. And, am so excited about the possibilities of connecting with other local internet contacts. You have started a great idea! Count me in.
Thanks for the mention and for your time! I like James’ idea too - we need to have a local BLOGGERS/Internet contacts gathering, expo, meetup - something!
So far, I’ve only met a few, most notably Jimmy Patterson, so a Basin-area bloggers meetup sounds like a great idea!
Damien, over the last few years, we’ve had a number of “actual gatherings of virtual acquaintances” … they’re irregular and occasional, but we’ll be sure to let you know about the next one.
