What’s Your Secret?

Every morning I wake up and I go through a routine, much like I’m sure most of you do as well. My routine consists of eating breakfast as I check my email then I hit the all important feed reader.
My feed reader is comprised mostly of photography blogs and photoblogs as well as blogging feeds and tech news with some local news for possible photo-ops as well.
I also subscribe to some rather obscure blogs that create a break in what can become a slightly monotonous task of staying up to date with the “industry”.
Every Sunday I get a feed from Post Secret. If you are unaware of Post Secret I highly recommend looking into the website. Essentially people will mail a post card with their deepest secrets written on them to the website author and he places them onto the website and also creates books. I don’t own a book yet, but I will eventually buy one.
I love the website. I love the fact that every week I’ll have my normal reader interrupted by this highly emotional and enlightening experience (and it is very much an experience). Sometimes it fills me with such emotion that I’ve had to stop and gather myself before continuing on with my daily tasks. It isn’t so much that I share these secrets with the anonymous sender, but sometimes I can feel the heartache, the sorrow, the honesty.
I don’t believe this website is for everyone. I don’t know that everyone can handle the magnitude of some of the things said, but I do suggest that everyone should experience it once.
Do I have a secret that I could share with the website? That depends. I have private things in my life that only a very few know about, so I suppose they are secrets to the rest of the world, but nothing that I hide from my closest companions or my wife.
Maybe I share too much.
Maybe not.
